Almost! And it’s quite a scary story to be honest!

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has revealed that he was nearly arrested in Uganda for admitting that he is gay.

He was filming an interview with politician David Bahati for an upcoming BBC Three documentary, ‘The World’s Worst Place To Be Gay?’ when he told Bahati of his sexual orientation…

Scott says that the guy went mental and tried to arrest the film crew! Who knew that there was so much anger towards someone’s choice of life?!

He says:

“I’d heard horror stories about people getting arrested and roughed up and who knows what. I was scared. He ordered us to cut the cameras then brought a security guard. We ran off and he rang one of our guys saying, ‘Where are they staying? What are the registration plates? I want them arrested. They won’t get far.’ We lied that we were at the Sheraton and apparently he turned up there with armed police.”

In 2009, Bahati proposed the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Bill. This would introduce the death penalty for anyone practising homosexuality in certain situations. The bill is still under discussion.

The show will air on Valentines Day (February 14th) on BBC Three at 9pm.

Every time I see these adverts for women’s car insurer Sheila’s Wheels, I keep thinking that I can see Radio 1 presenter Sara Cox…

That’s right, she is leaving Radio 1! But fear not… She is moving to Radio 2!

Jo Whiley has been presenting on Radio 1 for seventeen years, but she has announced that she is leaving to present a new show for three nights a week on Radio 2. This will take effect in April.

Whiley says:

“I’ve loved working at Radio 1 for the past 17 years. As well as supporting my love of music, Radio 1 have also supported and accommodated me bringing three further children into the world, something, as a woman, I will always be grateful for.”

Jo actually has four children, but three of them were born during her time at the station.

The new show on Radio 2 will last for 90 minutes from Monday to Wednesday – starting from April 4th 2011.

Good decision for Jo? Or will you be sad to see her leave Radio 1?

Justin Bieber stopped by Radio 1 in London today (Thursday 2nd December 2010) to have a chat with presenter Fearne Cotton.

Fearne was her usual quirky self – and asked Justin some really good questions from fans.

Justin was very smiley, and was polite at times – but I can’t help but think he’s just a bit of a spoilt brat. Most of his answers were just one worded, and to me – that is a sign of him being told EXACTLY what to say by his management.

He said that the only thing he liked in the UK was Cheryl Cole… So he obviously hasn’t seen much of the UK.

Justin also expects us to believe that his hair only takes 5 minutes to style when he gets up on a morning… Yeah right!! Although if it is true, I’d love for him to share his secret on what product he uses before he goes to bed.

Cheryl Cole dropped in at Radio 1 this morning to have a chat with Sara Cox about basically everything thats going on right now.

Cheryl didn’t reveal anything that we didn’t already know – I think she’s saving stuff for her Piers Morgan appearance on Saturday, which is understandable because I would imagine she wants people to watch.

She did however debut a new song called ‘The Flood’ – which wasn’t tooooooooo bad, although I can’t help but feel it was slightly over produced.

Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow of Take That stopped by Radio 1 today to indulge in some Live Lounge madness with Fearne Cotton.

Gary revealed that he had been on a 5 mile run this morning. God knows how he’s able to sing after that!

Robbie was also quick to say that he and Gary are in the midst of a bromance. Awww!

Take That’s new single is called ‘The Flood’ and will be premiered tomorrow morning (Friday 8th October) on Chris Moyles’ show sometime after 8am. Gary and Robbie describe it as a “jazz oddesy”. Unfortunately, they would not reveal whether a tour is definitely happening – but hinted that one probably would!

Robbie joked that the weirdest thing he’d ever received from a fan was ‘herpes’. Nice! But very honest of him!

Their performance of ‘Shame’ was actually pretty good. Robbie was a bit off key in some places, but overall it was a great performance!

Kim Kardashian dropped by the Radio 1 studios in London today (Tuesday 14th September) and had a chat with the lovely Fearne Cotton.

I was hoping that she would have stayed for a bit longer… All we got was a quick 15-20 minute chat, but I suppose it is better than nothing.

As per usual Kim looked stunning, as did Fearne!

Kim was in to talk about the fifth series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. It airs on E! UK on Sundays at 10pm. We’re already two episodes in, but I recommend you check it out.

Next time Kim, or any of the other Kardashian clan comes to the UK, I hope they decide to visit other places aside from London. The rest of the UK has a lot to offer… (HINT: Manchester)!!

I have just been listening to a recent Radio One Live Lounge CD and came across what I feel is the worst cover EVER!

It is Florence & The Machine – Halo (originally by Beyonce).

It is awful screaching/whaling from start to finish and I think Beyonce would even cringe.

So, Cheryl Cole is performing on Radio 1′s Live Lounge… If you had the live streaming player open before she was on the radio then you’d have heard Fearne talking to Cheryl behind the scenes….

Uh-oh, Fearne was caught swearing…. She said: “Because you’re on camera, please don’t do the w*nker sign”

Cheryl was then heard saying that she’d never do that….

After, you could hear her panicking about the key of a certain song. Let’s hope she doesn’t mess up!!

UPDATE: She has just sang her single, ‘Parachute’…. It was a bit ropey in places – especially at the beginning. But once she got into it and over came her nerves, it was pretty good. Let’s see what what her cover will be….
